wall collage!

Remember when I shared with you my inspiration wall collage?  With a lot of help from Nick we finished it this weekend.

It may look small, but we have seriously high ceilings.  The collage from top to bottom is almost 5 feet tall.

The barn wood frames are from Hobby Lobby.  They were a great find.  They look great with the old wooden rudder Nick found in Chesapeake beach.  It's hard to see, but on the bottom right next to the sailboat I have a printable of Maryland that I found on Pinterest.  The top left are two tickets from Italy into a national landmark.  I found them in a coffee table book Nick mom had given us.  The pages in the long frame are from a Welsh language instructional book for children.  Lastly the international code of sailing flags is also a hand me down from Nick's mom, it's cloth and we stapled it onto the back.

This is the first time I've used spray paint.  Nick had some navy spray paint laying around from his corn hole build.  I should post some pictures of those!  Well, I spray painted the letters and the bottom frames along with the long skinny one.  The top frame is an old plastic frame I had from college (it's Walmart). That got a coat of cream paint which didn't adhere well to the plastic.  I actually liked the way it looked, with the black peeking through, so I kept it.  It seemed "rustic" or "shabby chic" which is code terms for "it looks busted, but I'm keeping it anyway."

I like it - I think it looks really good and it's a good representation of the inspiration wall. I wish we had a Hobby Lobby close by.
