Alien abductions are Biblical?!

That's right! I'm going to do it. I'm going to read the Bible in 90 days. (Give or take a few) I needed a push to get out of my "I'm all alone in SD" funk.

Today I read Genesis 1-16. It's pretty good times. God creates the earth then Cain immediately commits murder. One part truly captured my imagination. The Nephilim. They are the direct result of "Sons of God" and "Daughters of Men" having... well it's their offspring. Don't Google this to find out more information. Some biblical scholars speculate that they are aliens... oh and by "biblical scholars" I mean conspiracy theorists who live in their mom's basement. Some say they were giants, like the hero "Nimrod" of old or even Goliath. Some believe God wiped out the earth in a giant flood because there were too many. Lets just say it sparked my over active imagination. Oh, and can we go back to how the meaning of Nimrod went from super buff half angel to dimwitted nerd? Odd how those things happen.

I also found that the Old Testament is a rich resource of unique names. For instance, Nick and I could name our first born Robert... or we could name him Ham, Arphaxad, Uz, Peleg, or even Hazarmaveth. No wait! It's gotta be Jobab. I'd have to go back and reread deeper and make sure he doesn't belong to any of the cursed tribes.

Wish me luck! I have a bad feeling that Deuteronomy is going to be brutal.

Numbers is the real killer one. It is basically just genealogies with a few stories in between. Good luck!

My roommate did a big research paper on that topic in college. It's so crazy!

Good luck on your Bible reading adventure!
