thoughts on crafting.

Let's talk about Pinterest and DIY'ing.  Sometimes I think homemade bunting might be, like, the new decorative Michael's wreaths of our generation.  I think that chevron wallpaper might be to us what the avocado sink/toilet/tub combo was to the 1970's.

Somethings I like.  I do.  I like chevron wallpaper and homemade bunting.  (I could write a whole separate entry on searching diy bunting in Pinterest)  However, some things are busted and homemade looking- like the decorative yarn soda bottle I thought I could pull off.  It just looks like a soda bottle.  Covered in yarn.

Maybe deep down I do want to become a craft blogger, but can't.  I can't because I can not take a good photo to save my life.  It's never been a skill of mine.  Point.  Shoot.  Point.  Shoot.  Envy is what I feel for those people in my life who can actually take a photograph.  Tara and Nick. And Drea.  Check this beautiful blog out.

I know, get to the point Kaley.  The point is- I love DIY blogging and Pinterest.  In fact, it may have been invented by be Beelzebub himself as the distraction of all distractions.  (My framed college diploma is hideous!  I should replace it with a boldly graphic hand painted bulletin board....with handmade bunting!)  BUT some of the things on there are truly tacky.  Let's draw the line somewhere folks.  Only make one terrarium a week and be judicious with your homemade succulent planters.

To make a long story short this is my apology for my elephant pillow post.  Boredom made me temporarily lose my mind and think you might be interested in a poorly descriptive passage on my elephant pillow journey.
