grammer.

I know I misspelled that.  Let's not talk about how you judged me before you knew my title was intentional irony,  let's talk about grammar.  It's the worst.  I am the worst at it.   Some people get all on their grammar high horse.  Time to get down.  Because I said so.  Wait!  I should never start a sentence with because!!

Hopefully you can relate to some of the issues I struggle with.  I've realized that I can't get the hang of a possessive apostrophe.  Rachel's purse is easy, but what if I think it's my moms?  mom's.  Oh gosh.  Dessert has two of the letter s...  but what about supposed?  If spell check didn't exist, neither would my error free resume.  I even have to go back and check that I've put the right punctuation on the end of a sentence?  Scratch that.  Add a period.  I mean, I have my pet peeves too.  Double negatives, misspelling easy words, but sometimes when you know and teach too many rules you get tricked into doing something you might not normally do.  Also, I suck at it.  One rule to live by- when in doubt, add a comma.

So, to those of you who read this blog and cringe at my mistakes, I offer my apology.  I'm only functioning at a third grade level.  (By the way, should Third grade be capitalized?  Grade is common, but adding the Third makes it proper?  Here we go again!)

According to Shurley English 7
Decide if the noun you want to make possessive is singular or plural before you add the apostrophe. Follow these rules.
1. For a singular noun - add 's
ex boy's
2. For a plural noun that ends in s - add '
ex boys'
3. For a plural noun that does not end in s- add 's
ex men's

Oh, and proper adjectives are capitalized. So Third grade is correct.

Love You!
