California Thanksgiving.

My first Thanksgiving away from home is intimidating. I mean, I never cook anything for anyone! I leave that up to the seasoned experts of the Myers clan.
There are no seasons in California. This is the view from my window. Currently it is 76 and very, very, ridiculously, ironically sunny. The "perfect" day if you will. And we've had three of these already this week. Suffice it to say if doesn't really feel like Thanksgiving, but I'll give it my best shot. I mean, I'm burning an Autumn Wreath scented candle.

For all you haters out there, Nick is in charge of the turkey. This is a good decision for the good health of our little family.

So, Happy Thanksgiving y'all from Kaley, Nick, and Molly Weasley!

Doggone it!

I finally did it. I let Nick get a dog.
We are fostering with the intent to adopt a chocolate lab mix. Her name is Molly Weasley. She has already pooped on my carpet. I mean, I'm sure she was nervous and all that... but really? Other than that she is super loving, super shy, loves squeaky toys, and already napped on her dog bed.
Welcome to the family Weasley!

See you later!

Nick's Grandpa passed away last week, so we are going to Vermont to the funeral. :(

I won't be posting for awhile. I know you will pine for me.

He's Home!

He is home. I am home. We have a home?

"Celebrate good times, come on!"

The only thing that could make this moment sweeter would be- that couch from PB!

Pining away in SD

I miss my mom. I wasn't meant to be away from her. She was my roommate, my confidante, and my mom! She gives great advice. She is always on your side because she had me in her womb. She gets me because she gave half her genes to me.

Please enjoy this photo montage of why I miss my mom.

This one if for Wayne H. I miss my other roomie too. Sometimes I even miss that guy in the middle!

West Coast.

I used to live here.
Now I live here.

Some things about the West Coast, and by some I mean just about all, are different.
Observations on West Coast Living.

  • People are very relaxed.
  • People eat healthy to stay freakishly thin.
  • Del Taco.
  • Skate boards.
  • Pedestrians have mad right of way.
  • Hills.
  • Chargers! Weird.
  • Palm Trees.
  • Dirt.
  • Sea lions, seals.
  • No Squirrels! Except on cliffs. I miss those little guys.
  • Seriously, no roadkill.
  • Sunsets.
  • Fish Tacos.
And that's the west coast for you.

Insert Couch Here.

Yeah, that's right. Put the couch right next to the end table, right under that large flag.

Guess what? Pottery Barn lost my couch. They lost it so completely that they have to make me a new one. From scratch. Right now, I hate PB. Nick will come home to the above. An empty hole in the living room. I'm hoping to get the couch in two weeks if I can get it soon. I also expect to get a HEARTY discount on that thing. Lost. They lost an 82"w x 36"h x 40"d couch. Lost. Maybe it's with Jack and Sawyer in the 1970's. I just don't know.

Every room in my little house is finished. Well, with the exception of the gaping couch hole. I've hung every picture. I mean, sure, there are some odds and ends to be tucked away, but for the most part- I am done. Congratulations Kaley, You have completed your first Navy move entirely without your spouse!

Thanks.

Well, if so many women did it before me, I can do it right?

Props to those wives who did it without ship email, cell phones, and iChat.

And props to the veteran's and our men serving now.

And props to Nick whose in the ocean right now.

I live here now.

Well, I took a five day road trip with Tara across the US. She's blogging about it. The only part I'll touch on is the Grand Canyon Day. You might remember me blogging about how it will be lame. Please enjoy this little picture I took for you blog readers.

Grand Canyon = Lame

However ( Grand Canyon > Niagara Falls)

Now I'm in Point Loma living my married life. However, I do have Navy Wife friends! It's not as lonely as it could be. I have completed three whole rooms. The kitchen, the half bath, and the office.
My PB couch is in Cincinatti but they are giving me some money back on it, so I live in the office and watch Hulu on the Mac. I have a substituting job in the bag once I turn the paperwork back in. All in all, I guess I'm starting a new life here on the west coast. Me. Little Kaley. Seeing the world. I would have never guessed.

Nick called last night! He might even get in a day early!

Now I can blog regularly since I caught you up on the day to day :)
